Ben moved to Plano with his family in 1979.  After growing up in Plano, attending and graduating from Plano schools, Ben received a degree in Government from the University of Texas at Austin.

Since returning to Plano to raise his family, Ben has been involved with various boards and commissions for the City of Plano, Collin County, and Plano ISD.  Ben is the Chairman of the Leadership Plano Executive Board, and serves on the Plano Youth Leadership Board of Directors.  He is the former Vice-chair of the City of Plano Parks and Recreation Planning Board, is a graduate of Leadership Plano Class 24, and serves on the Board of Directors of the Plano Chamber of Commerce.

Additional past community involvement includes serving as a Collin County Grand Juror, as a member of the 2006 Collin County Salary Grievance Committee, and as a member of the 2007 Collin County Bond Program Transportation Subcommittee.  Ben currently serves on Plano ISD’s Beaty Early Childhood School Site-based Improvement Committee.

Ben works in Cardiovascular Institutional Sales for Sanofi-Aventis Pharmaceuticals.  He is responsible for the highest-volume sales territory in the country.  Professional successes include multiple sales and leadership awards and participation in the company’s Management & Leadership Development Program.

Ben and his wife Abby, a fellow Plano Senior High School Graduate and former Plano ISD teacher at Brinker Elementary School, are the proud parents of Lainey Cathryn, who was born in April of 2008.  They are active members of Christ United Methodist Church.
