Residential Disposal at
North Texas Municipal Water District Transfer Stations

Do-it-yourself disposal is available to all Plano residential Environmental Waste Services customers at the North Texas Municipal Water District (NTMWD) transfer stations and regional disposal facility. Locations are as follows:

Transfer station hours are Monday through Saturday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and the regional disposal facility is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Plano residents must take their current City of Plano utility bill that reflects garbage (waste) services and a current Texas driver's license with corresponding address for proof of residency.
Residents are allowed two drop-offs per monthly utility bill cycles.
Loads must arrive in a passenger vehicle or pick-up truck. Trailers of any size are also acceptable, as long as they are towed behind a passenger vehicle or pick-up truck. NOTE: Stake bed trucks and box trucks are not acceptable.

Recycling
The following materials may be dropped-off by residents to be recycled:

White goods (e.g., air conditioners, refrigerators, water heaters, washers and dryers) are NOT accepted at the Custer Transfer Station |

Used motor oil (maximum of five gallons per visit) |
|
Used oil filters |
|
Whole passenger vehicle tires (maximum of four per visit) |
|
Brush and untreated/unpainted wood or fence panels will be recycled at the Custer Road Transfer Station ONLY. (Material taken to other locations will be landfilled - not recycled.) |
Unacceptable Waste Delivered by Residents

Contractor Waste* generated at a residence or business and delivered by the contractor exclusively. Contractors may dispose of their waste at the NTMWD 121 Regional Disposal Facility upon paying the posted gate rate. |

Household Hazardous Waste & Chemicals (e.g., paint, pool chemicals, fertilizers, etc.) Residents should call Customer Service at (972) 769-4150 to schedule a Household Chemical Collection. |

| * Contractor waste is referred to as construction related materials derived from remodel, expansion and/or other residential construction projects (e.g., counter tops, cabinets, sinks, toilets, drywall/sheetrock, wallboard, AC ducting, windows and doors. |
| **Residents may dispose of these wastes as part of the free residential waste drop-off provided these wastes make up 10 percent or less of the total amount by volume being disposed. The entire load will be rejected if unacceptable wastes comprise more than 10 percent of the load. Residents may then pay for disposal at NTMWD 121 Regional Disposal Facility. |
