PLANO TEEN COURT
JUSTICE JOB DESCRIPTION


QUALIFICATIONS

  • A teen justice must treat each case individually, with objectivity and without prejudice.
  • Must have an ability to communicate, work in a group, and be able to maintain confidentiality of all cases.
  • Juror must be 13-18 years old.
DUTY
  • Participate as a member of a teen justice panel.
  • During the Teen Court trial, listen attentively and objectively to the facts of the case and the arguments, if any, of the attorneys.
  • Assign (unanimously with the other teen justice members) the number of community service hours and any other reasonable conditions designed to hold the youth responsible for his/her actions.
RESPONSIBLE TO
  • Plano Teen Court Coordinator or designated adult volunteer.
  • Municipal Court Judge.

LENGTH OF COMMITMENT
A minimum of two (2) evenings a month for four (4) months.
