The Organic Recycling Program has been implemented in over 75 local restaurants, coffee houses, and grocery stores. This program focuses on capturing all the organic materials (food scraps, meats, fish, bones, vegetables, fruits, snack foods, breads and soiled paper items) from the waste stream and delivers it to the city’s composting facility where it is used to make Texas Pure Compost.

The program has been very successful, with continued growth over the years (47% growth increase comparing prior two fiscal years).
