Cases that are filed in the Texas Municipal Courts include Class C misdemeanor violations which include traffic, parking, state codes, and city ordinances. 

Traffic Violations

Traffic violations include moving and non-moving violations, commercial vehicle violations, failure to maintain financial responsibility (insurance), compliance violation (expired drivers license, inspection and registration), etc.

Parking Violations

Parking violations are violations of the traffic code and/or city ordinances.

State Code Violations

State Code violations are violations punishable by a maximum fine of $500.00.  They include violations like Public Intoxication, Theft Under $50.00, Disorderly Conduct, Minor in Possession of Alcohol, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, etc.

City Ordinance Violations

City Ordinance violations are violations punishable by a maximum fine of $2,000.00. They include juvenile curfew, park curfew, environmental violations (pollution, land-development violations, health and safety violations associate with food service establishments, rubbish at a residence, animal violations, etc.
