Plano PD Explorer Post 911
The Plano Police Department is currently recruiting young men and women to join their Law Enforcement Explorer Program.
Law Enforcement Exploring is a part of the Boy Scouts of America “Learning for Life” Program. It is designed to acquaint young people with the nature and complexity of law enforcement.
If you have a young adult in your family that is interested in exploring a career in law enforcement, this is an excellent opportunity to do so. Please call the Crime Prevention Unit at 972-941-2431 for more information.
The goals and objectives of the Plano Law Enforcement Explorer program are to:
- Further the Explorer’s education
- Encourage participation in a wide variety of community service activities
- Enhance the Explorer’s preparation for future roles as citizens, community members, leaders and potential future law enforcement officers.
Both male and female young adults are encouraged to join.
To become a member of the Explorer Post #911 you must:
- Be between the ages of 14 and 20
- Parental permission required if you are under the age of 17
- Be enrolled in high school and maintain a “C” average in each subject.
- Pass a thorough background check
- Pass a structured review board
- Complete the Basic Explorer Training Program
