Non-Emergency reports, assistance, or questions call (972) 424-5678

 

Cell phones without service can dial 9-1-1

The Outdoor Warning System audible test is run on the first Wednesday of each month at 12:00 Noon

Make sure to lock your cell phone! If you accidentally dial 9-1-1 just stay on the line

Be aware of your location: get to know your streets and addresses

If safe to do so write down license plates of suspects in crimes

 

 

Hiring Process

Below is a list of steps you will go through as an applicant. Due to the extensive testing required for these positions, a hiring process time of 8 weeks is not uncommon.

  1. Complete online application through Human Resources
  2. You will then be contacted to set up a date to come in for initial testing
  3. Complete required documents (see below) and attend initial testing appointment
  4. 2-hour Observation of Plano PSC Call-taking and Dispatch Operations 
  5. Initial panel interview
  6. Polygraph examination, psychological evaluation, hearing test, and physical examination 
  7. Background investigation, personal reference checks and employment verification
  8. Final interview with department Manager
  9. Drug screen
