SAVING WATER inside the house is easier than you think! Basically, it comes down to three steps:
| 1. |
Use the right equipment |
| |
Update your fixtures whenever they wear out. For example, exchange your old showerhead with a brand new low-flow showerhead. The City gives out low-flow showerheads as well as other water conservation retrofit items for FREE.
Planning to replace the water guzzling throne in your home with a new high efficiency toilet? The City offers a credit on your water utility bill for that replacement. |

| 2. |
Find and Fix Leaks |
|
The average American home loses up to 30% of water consumption through leaks. Click here for information on how to find and fix leaks around your home. |
|
|
| 3. |
Change your behavior |
|
There are many opportunites to stop wasting water through simple actions that add up to a big contribution! Turn off the running water when brushing your teeth or shaving. Only run the dishwasher and washing machine with full loads. And cut your shower time in half (let's face it, most of us spend our time in the show much like the graph below indicates)! |
