Any device that can help you or your family be more aware of the amount of time that is spent in the shower is a great idea!  Try to keep shower times down to 5 or 10 minutes.  This should be more than enough time to get clean.  Remember, the shower is one of the places in the home where a lot of water is used.

toilet leak tabletsToilet Leak Detection Tablets
Did you know you could have a silent leak in your toilet’s plumbing?  Use these dye tablets to check for a leak. It’s easy and the test could save you money. If you don't have leak detection tablets, you can perform this test using food coloring.  Simply drop a few drops of food coloring in the rectangle tank of your toilet. Don't use the toilet for at least 10 minutes.  If you see the color come through to the bowl, you have a leak in your toilet. Try replacing the rubber flapper.  It is usually the culprit and is an easy and inexpensive fix.

When purchasing a new rubber flapper for your toilet, be sure to choose one that can stand up to the chlorine in the water. Spend a little more and buy a good one. This is one of the easiest ways to fix a leaking toilet.
